Brompton near Northallerton in North Yorks has the church of St. Thomas. It is believed that a church stood on this spot in the 7th century and certainly date to pre-Viking times as Hogbacks dated Circa AD 920-970 were found when renovation of the church took place.
The weather vane on the tower roof has the numbers 1794 cut out of it and the graveyard has a number of 18th century, legible, gravestones.
Clicking the Hogback button will take you to another web site with more info on Hogbacks and what they are. I did not know!!
