In the graveyard at St. Aidan's I found this gravestone which has "In memory of George Henry Whitbread who was killed at Lingdale Mines Nov 19th 1907 aged 28. Erected by his fellow workmen. Also in memory of his beloved wife Mary Ann Whitbread" Sadly it was not the only grave of a man killed at Lingdale Mines
